How small can a dragon design go before it stops reading?
Below about 24 inches, fine detail starts to disappear. The tubing has a minimum bend radius, so a scale pattern that looks sharp on screen turns into a solid blob once it is bent. Most dragon designs sit comfortably at 31 inches and up.
If you are set on a smaller sign, we simplify instead of shrinking. Dropping the scales and keeping the outline gives you a piece that still reads as a dragon from across the room, which a crowded miniature never does.
Can you do a multicolor Chinese dragon neon sign?
Yes. A body in one color with the mane, eyes, or flame in a second reads well, and static multicolor keeps each section a fixed shade rather than cycling. Red and warm white is the most requested pairing, gold tones come closest to traditional artwork.

Is LED better than glass for a design this detailed?
For this kind of artwork, yes. LED flex takes tighter curves, weighs a fraction of glass, and survives being knocked in a busy bar or studio. Glass tubing on a dragon means many separate sections and many points of failure.
